My Friend's Harem is Obsessed with Me - Chapter 1
‘You’re expelled, Daniel.’
The principal, with benevolent wrinkles symbolizing kindness, declared coldly.
Expulsion.
Me, expelled from Eos Academy, renowned as the best on the continent?
Why? How?
‘In our academy, there’s no place for a student like you—no camaraderie, violent tendencies, and lack of manners.’
I couldn’t utter a word in response. It felt so unfair that tears seemed ready to pour, but if I did, it would feel like a real defeat, so I forced myself to hold back.
‘If you have nothing to say, you may leave.’
After the cold declaration, the principal casually shifted his gaze to the documents on his desk.
Implicitly, he was signaling me to leave without saying anything.
Eventually, without voicing the injustice tearing at my heart, I left the principal’s office, holding back tears with every step.
‘Maybe it’s for the best.’
Indeed, staying at the academy would only be a burden. Except for two childhood friends from my hometown, I had no real friends. Many students disliked me for my humble background.
Amidst pressure, interference from classmates, and discrimination from professors, I had been branded as an incompetent student.
‘But Ares and Rin…’
Childhood friends who had entered Eos Academy together. I wanted to greet them, but outside the window, I saw the two of them walking together.
Watching them walk side by side outside the door, I suddenly recalled how the villagers always said they suited each other.
The tears I had been holding back so desperately in front of the principal finally flowed as I stood in front of the school gate.”

“‘Huk.’
When I opened my eyes again, it was reality.
A dense and dark forest. I had rested against a tree for a brief nap in the midst of it.
The dream had been so vivid that I checked my body. A robust body in my twenties. Covered in various wounds, I looked unpleasant, and my shoulder was bandaged due to an injury.
‘Are you okay?’
Eris asked, and I reassured her, telling her not to worry. Despite losing an ear during battle, she remained elegant and resilient, still as beautiful as an elf could be.
‘How’s the situation?’
‘It seems the danger is still far away. Thanks to the traps you set.’
‘It’s just buying us some time.’
As we gathered our equipment and stood up, Eris, wielding her staff and sword, spoke.
‘But where should we go?’
‘We need to go further into the forest. It’s likely safer from the onslaught of monsters.’
The continent was under the relentless threat of the invasion of death. Comprising the remains of the dead, they had swiftly covered the entire continent, leading to the demise of all kingdoms, turning the world into a place of pure death.
Were there any living humans left?
Probably not.
Even the place we currently occupied, known as the ‘Forest of the Demon Realm,’ was considered a hell for humans.
The fact that the demonic invasion had reached this far meant that there was no place on the continent untouched by their hands.
Once notorious as a forest so malevolent that it was called hell by humans, it had now become a peculiar sanctuary for them.
Of course, that too might come to an end.
‘If…’
Eris, who was following behind me, spoke up.
Since I was busy, I didn’t respond, but she continued with a shocking statement.
‘If everyone is dead, and only the two of us survive, would you marry me?’
‘What?’
Surprised by such words coming from an elf, I turned my head. She seemed embarrassed, avoiding eye contact.
‘No, with humans and elves extinct, you’re the only mate left for me.’
‘That’s… well, true.’
‘We could be the beginning of a new humanity. The day when half-elves rule the world.’
Hearing Eris chuckle softly, I couldn’t help but let out a forced laugh. It felt as if this unlikely possibility was unfolding before us.
Perhaps, it was highly unlikely.
So, I laughed and gave a response to an impossible promise.
‘Sure, why not.'”
“……!”
She never expected to hear such a response.
Due to my usual reserved nature, my answer surprised her momentarily. Subsequently, she adorned a bright, somewhat embarrassed smile—an expression unfamiliar to me until now.
Out of the blue, she inquired, appearing taken aback, “By the way, what’s your name? I’ve always just called you Sherpa.”
“Oh, right.”
I realized I hadn’t disclosed my name.
Well, considering our first encounter occurred in the Demon Forest, where she served as a guide for us to gather materials, it was unsurprising.
“I am…”
Swoosh!
A black spear, emanating an ominous energy, pierced through Eris’s chest. She had been smiling mere moments ago.
Despite her attempts to convey something while coughing up blood, she ultimately fell silent, her hand dropping, and warmth leaving her body.
“Eris!”
I rushed desperately to her side, only to be confronted by a figure in black armor behind her.
“You are the last one.”
The master of the Death Legion.
The creature, regarded as the calamity sent by the gods to the continent, locked eyes with me as he unsheathed his sword.
No name, no age, no gender.
Revealing nothing, he nonchalantly raised his sword, directing it towards me.
What did he mean by “the last”?
I pondered, but he responded as if he had read my thoughts.
“You are the last human remaining on the continent.”
“Ha…”
A bitter laugh escaped me.
I never dreamed that such a nonsensical statement would become a serious reality.
Truly, we were the last of humanity.
I wanted to tell Eris, but she had already ceased to breathe.
With my sword drawn, I remained silent.
No matter what I said here, he knew he would kill me.
Thus began the duel.
Although the subsequent onslaught of the Death Legion prevented their master from escaping, I paid no attention to it.
Since I already knew I was dealing with a life that was already dead, I swung my sword, burning my own life.
“I will kill you!”
Objectively, my swordsmanship was superior.
However, I couldn’t counter his magic.
I had always found magic challenging, so while there were a few ways to deal with it, they were nothing more than tricks against a magician of this caliber.
“Would I die just because I killed from the beginning?
What is this monster destroying the continent for?
“You son of a b****!”
I shouted while swinging my sword.
The helmet the guy was wearing was thrown off, and the black hair spilled down. If I had swung my sword right here, I could have killed him, but I couldn’t do that.
“…Lyn?”
Childhood friend who used to play together in the village.
Always beautiful, even her personality was kind.
My first love.
Thump.
Pain surged along with intense heat from the sword piercing my heart, but I couldn’t look away.
Lyn’s sword was mercilessly pulled out, and I could only stare at her helplessly.
The tears that clung to her lifeless pupils.
And so, my story would have ended.
Unable to clarify anything properly, a life that always ran away was a mystery in itself. But now, I had no more chances, no more time.
Yeah, I thought so.
“Expulsion, Daniel.”
So I thought this was a dream too.
The school director with wrinkles.
The unique scent of deodorant mixed with the smell of old books in the director’s office.
The sunset pouring through the crack in the window and the expulsion notice extended in front of me.
“Is this a dream?”
It couldn’t be a dream. Dreams are something you see before you die, and I’m sure I’m already dead.
“Our academy has no place for a student like you, lacking camaraderie, violent, and disrespectful.”
So I thought it was some kind of dream, but what was a little strange was that, unlike the dream I had earlier, I could move and act as I wanted, and all my memories from before remained.
“If you have nothing to say, leave.”
The scene is played out exactly as it did in my dream or in my memory.
The dean turned his attention to the documents and gave me the expulsion order.
I raised my middle finger as I stared at the expulsion notice on the table with a blank expression.
