Santos was expelled from the Home of Representatives on Dec. 1 by a vote of 311-114. The uncommon transfer got here after he was indicted on felony expenses in Could 2023, following an investigation into his monetary disclosures and alleged false claims he made whereas working for Congress. 

Santos was initially charged with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of cash laundering, one rely of theft of public funds and two counts of constructing materially false statements to the Home of Representatives. He has pleaded not responsible to all expenses.
